Background Information
Lucy Ann was born and brought up in the beautiful surroundings
of North Devon and from an early age she was inspired
by nature. Her father who is a DR of botany is a huge
influence on her creative streak. His passion for photography
taken through the microscope of plant and animal
cells provides Lucy Ann with an endless resource material
of intricate coloured surface patterns and textures
which she still uses today to inspire her lace designs.
Lucy Ann went on to study Art and Design at North
Devon College before progressing onto Cumbria College
of Art
and Design where her interest in surface decoration
was channelled in embroidery. She finally completed
her education
at the University of Central England in Birmingham
where she obtained a 2:1 BA(Hons) Degree in fashion/Textiles.
After her training she worked alongside bridal and
textile designers in London and the West Midlands before
setting
up her own business in the heart of Birmingham’s ‘Jewellery
Quarter’ where she has been established for the
past 5 years.
